Judging:
A cash prize will be awarded for Best In Show.
Works will be judged on both aesthetics and function. (Decorative teapots may be accepted to be shown, but only functional teapots will be eligible for best in show prize.) We will have two judges, one a ceramic artist, the other a tea expert.
Randi Lile will be the Clay Arts, Utah juror. She is well known and respected in the ceramics community. She won the People's Choice award at Intimate Objects, the 2008 Clay Arts, Utah pottery show. Her work can be seen online at randilile.com and in person at several venues in Utah, including the Red Kiln, where she teaches and is the studio manager.
Vanessa, manager of The Tea Grotto, will evaluate the function of the tea ware. She is expert in the brewing of the various teas and knows what to look for in a teapot.
